Supply in Profit / Loss
Description
Overview
This chart shows the percentage of Kaspa's circulating supply that is currently "in profit" versus "in loss." A UTXO is considered in profit if the KAS price when it was created (last moved on-chain) is lower than the current price. Conversely, a UTXO is in loss if it was created at a price higher than the current price.
When a large percentage of supply is in profit, it can indicate that holders are sitting on gains. When supply in loss is high, it may indicate capitulation or accumulation phases.
How This Data is Collected
For each UTXO in Kaspa's UTXO set, we estimate its creation timestamp using its DAA score, then look up the historical KAS/USD price at that time. If the historical price is below the current price, that UTXO's KAS amount is counted as "in profit"; otherwise it is counted as "in loss." UTXOs created before any price data existed are assigned a price of $0 (always in profit). Dust UTXOs (≤1000 sompi) are excluded, so the profit and loss percentages may not sum to exactly 100% of the circulating supply.
